I would have to say the invention of television. It has evolved into a medium by which everything that goes on in the world can be beamed into a typical home within seconds. Since the invention of TV, everything is scrutinized at a level like never before. Look at things like Sept. 11th, wars, --all those things were captured on video and beamed around the world for all to see. It influences people's opinions. The world has become a smaller place thanks to TV.
