in my "other car" the CD player won't play it. It will play original CD's, but not the ones I burn myself.

Can you explain this to me? Is it the CD player? I mean are there CD players that simply won't play CD's that you burn yourself?

Some Cd players don't read burned cd's. Technically I don't know why I just know it is. I look for CD players that have cd/rw ready on them. They have a better chance of reading burned discs.

Yes there are. Car stereos can be problematic. It's not the fact that you've burnt them yourself, but could have something to do with either, the way it was burnt or the make of CD-R.

Try experimenting. SOMETHING will work with the car. Try first using a different program to burn the CDs, or try burning on a lower speed. You can also try a different brand of CD-R.

I ran into the same problem. I was burning CDs to be played in a car stereo but nothing was working. However, whenever I burnt anything on my Mac using Toast, it played ok. Using iTunes or Nero on the PC, it rarely worked. When it did work, it only seemed to work on CDs burnt on Nero and set at a lower speed.

I have no idea why this is but I hope I have been of help!

If you burned an audio cd at a speed of 52, and your other car can read cd's at 16 speed, it won't be able to read it, burn the cd at a slower speed like 16 and try it out if it works, only problem I can think of, unless your other car cd player is busted

Burn CD's at 4X or slower - then they'll play in anything. I had that same problem once with my dual CD player that I use for DJ'ing - the manual said it may not be able to read CD's that are burned faster than 4X.

Try converting your music to wav files or mp3 and see which the other car will play, If they are mp3 make them wav files and visa versa.
