i've got a preet friend here..she didn't opened up her problem to me but i just discovered it on my own..i noticed she never wear sleeveless tops or any kind w/o sleeves..then one day,i accidentally saw her wearing a sleeveless..and i saw that she got dark underarms...now i know the reason why she isn't wearing any kind of those clothes..im concerened coz i want her to enjoy aND love her body..she got low self esteem and confidence..she hasn't got any boyfriend ever since...can you recommend any effective over the counter products or home remedies? pls put in mind that she is just an average citizen so she can't afford for any expensive treatments...thanks!

well..its dark in a way that's in the skin..its hairy but she shaves it or sometimes,pluck it...so..the skin is dark....

she feels about it..i know...even if she doesn't talk about it..she does..i just can see it whenever she saw me or my other pals wearing a sleeveless top...i want to help her...

tell her to stop shaving any hair on her arms. When the hair grows back, it will grow back darker.

I think that in this situation she needs to see a specialist. IF the skin is just dark after she shaves; then there is probably not much that can be done. WHat the darknes is is just all of the hair folicles. She might want to try waxing. BEcause waxing goes deeper. Shaving just gets rid of the surface hair. Waxing pulls the hair out by the root. But I am not going to lie. WAXING CAN BE PAINFUL!!!!! So go see a waxing specialist at a salon. under arm waxing usually runs around $15-25. She would need to have it done probably every couple of weeks. But may be very worth it. Wish her luck for me!

The answer does not lie in the minor detail one can handle dark armpits. The thing we find difficult to handle is low self esteem and confidence, You can accept your body and concentrate on a good figure and presentation hair cuts make up clothes her walk how she holds herself. If this is all that is bothering her she needs to get a life and realise how many more serious problems people have. Focus her attention on getting out more and meeting people and having a good time instead of moaning about her pits My girlfriend has the same problem and it doesn't bother me at all

i had the exact same problem. i've tried all different kinds of bleacing creams and either they did not work or got darker and i wouldn't exactly recommend it because they have alot of chemicals in them. what i did and worked was that i would wait until the hair grows to a fair length then wax it as to avoid ingrown hair, and i stopped using normal deoderant because they really get my underarms dark and started using those natual crystal deodrants they sell at the drugstore, i have been doing that and honestly it worked !

Are you sure she feels bad about this? She might not. But you can buy skin lightener and bleach cream at any drug store. She has to use it generously on a daily basis forever for it to work so unless you want to hurt her feelings by telling her this, just let it be. What you see as a flaw she may just want to be discreet about.
