If you are from the UK then you don't need one.
Check with the embassy for details....If you don't know.

If you are British , what you need is an electronic passeport.
Those are the new passports that were issued in the last 24 months . Then on the plane you are issued with a green Visa waiver form, which you fill out.
On arrival in the States, the immigration officer, will ask you a few questions, scan you passport, take a photo of you, and prints of your index figures. Then you can enter the States.
If you have an old passport , then you will need to apply for a visa , in London before you leave.
These are new regulations to combat terrorists.

Thank you for your conformation. If you want to go on holiday to america, you must have the visa. because you are go to abroad.
But on the visa, the purpose will be written and that types of visa is only for tourist and valid for two weeks. If you are take more days in america you can renew your visa immidietely for your safety.

Not on a British Passport you don't.
You will get a "visa waiver form" on the plane, just before you land.
Chill out. Britain & America are best buds.

i guess it depends where your from.
some ppl on here are saying yes, some are saying no, but from experience, my cousin, who at the time was 16, came to visit us here in the US for 2 weeks as a b-day gift, and she needed a visa...luckily they did give her a visa to come see us...it was so much fun because it was her 1st time coming to America.

I believe a visa is just for when you will be working and staying here. To just go on holiday, you go on your passport for a limited visit.
