What's its name? How long have you had it, and where did you get it?
I have a bear named (logically!) Bear since I was in college in 1987 and my then best friend gave him to me.

I didn't have a bear as a child, but have a collection now; I started to collect the Christmas Bears, the ones with the year on one foot, the year my son was born (1993) and we put them out every Christmas. My son will inherit them when he has a child of his own someday.

My son has several teddy bears, but his favorite one is a ratty little plush number named "Snowy" (it was originally white) that he has had since he was little (maybe 9 years now) and loaned to his Grandmother when she had cancer to make her feel better because that is how Snowy made him feel.

Yeah - I had (and have) a little white teddy, my first ever teddy bear.

I have had it since 1984 (when I was 1!), and it is called "Teddy bear Blanco" Blanco means white in Spanish. It is a white teddy which my mum bought on our first holiday for me.

Aww, diddums, I still hug it at night!!

I also have a pillow I've had since boarding school in 1990, called "Runt Runty" ('cos it is small and runty), I still hug that too, I don't feel safe without it!! My bf thinks it's wierd!! Especially when I hug the pillow and not him!!!!

As a kid I remember so many big toys and definitely teddies but not a particular christened one. I didn't like Barbies as much as that fresh American smell that my aunt brought with it. Likewise for the Cabbage Patch dolls: the hints of Toys R US Hong-Kong and the rocky ferry ride back to the ship and that voyage of that year, fresh in my mind as a girl. Last Christmas, my mother asked me to chose a bear from a hypermarket in Malaysia for a family friend's 4 year-old daughter. I instantly took to my fancy one with a suede feel and the biggest conjoined tummy/butt anybody's seen with a starchy white collar and the crisp smell of a Chinese factory where it was born of human and machine hands: starchy and crispy not what you'd associate-off the top of your head- with Shanghai's night stalls. Mind you I had ventured to that area first coz I was looking for a baby/bear. Either would do to hug. I lured my mother in and although I would have asked for it myself it didn't feel auspicious.. So midnight 24th my parents surprised with the bear in a Disney-theme bag on my bed. I called her Charlie short for Charlotte. It's been 7 months and my brother claims I’m making up for my supposedly deprived childhood, but that’s not it; recently I stumbled across photos of my newly-married mother hugging larger-than-life ashen bears. I suppose it’s the fad of the century since Teddy Roosevelt that’s seeping into the 21st..maybe the next big Teddy would be clones instead of pocket feedies.

I had a monkey named Monkey. I got him when I was 2 from my godmother. He's a little ragged now and is missing an eye, but he's still around. That's 22 years I've had him now.

I have a puppy named Kango (since he looks like a kangaroo) that my boyfriend gave me for Valentine's Day this year.

I have a Teddy now, his name is BearBear.
I gave him a white sleevless T-shirt, a bell (he's more alive with the tingting sound), and a waistband =)

It's a brown bear, 21in when sitted.
