After the 18th time he would have been 18' up. So if he jumped 3' more he'd have jumped 21' and would be out! So 19 will be my asnwer!

ok. So we've a frog on the bottom of a 21 foot properly. It jumps 3 ft into the air - no longer undesirable for a frog it is merely fallen 21 ft, yet there you bypass. So, Mr Froggy jumps 3 ft and slides decrease back 2 ft. Why? What has stopped him sliding decrease back the full 3 ft? there is in basic terms one aspect that would have stopped him and that is a step! Why would the developers of a 21 foot properly construct merely one step it is in basic terms one foot from the bottom of the properly? properly, they would not would they. hence there might want to be different steps. One each foot, all a thanks to the accurate. So the answer is a million bounce. After that he walked up the steps. mmmm?

hiya,
I think the answer is 19.
after 18 jumps, the frog jumps 3' and leaps out of the well which is 21' below ground.

well if after each jump, it gets 1' closer to jumping out (1 jump = 3-2) so it needs 21 jumps to the very top

It never gets out. Remember it is in a well. When it jumps up 3 feet, there is nothing to land on, so it falls back down into the water. Then it plunges 2 feet into the water only to bob back up to the surface and start all over again.

21 x 3 = 63
21 x 2 = 42
63 - 42 = 21 jumps
