Don't. I will just about guarantee you that either your mail server, or the mail server of the party you are trying to email will reject the email because it's too large. Besides the fact that it will take forever to actually send the email. The best thing to do is find another way to send it, burn it to CD and overnight it, upload it to a website/web storage account, etc. E-mailing anything over 20-30 megs is not advisable.

Download Winrar and compress the file into multiple small files (9mb each). The help file will contain instructions on how to do this, it's very easy.

You will have to send about 25 emails to the person in order for this to work, but it beats paying $15-20 to some place like whalemail.com or waiting on a CD with the data on it to ship to them via snail mail...

That's a very large file and very few email clients and servers will accept it. You can cut the file into smaller chunks (about 10meg is acceptable) using a free program called HJsplit. You can download the program from the link supplied below. Send the program to the person you are sending the file(s) to also. Good luck!

No need of any compression or any splitting

You just upload the files to any free file hosting server and give the link to your friend.

You can find free file hosting services from

http://www.freewebspace.net/guide/diskstorage.shtml

http://www.lights.com/pickalink/freestorage/

If you sent large files, mail server load will increase and may be the mail server will go down so that the mail providers will not accept large files

You need to have a very fast connection then you could attach it to an email but if you just have a cable modem or a regular phone connection, it won't go anywhere.
