Earth - earth
Mars - god of war (blood red)
Jupiter - king of the gods/god of lightning...largest planet
Saturn - one of the titans...father of Jupiter
Uranus - father of Saturn (and the other titans)
Neptune - god of the sea...blue color
Pluto - god of the underworld...most distant/hardest to see

most are derived from the names of greek goda like-mercury,venus,jupiter,saturn,uranus,pluto.
just look up their history
