Expectations....people go into marriage with extremely high expectations that their partner couldn't live up to no matter who they were.
They also are now going into marriage with the thought of "If it doesn't work, we will just get a divorce". There is no true commitment. They don't respect their vows of until death do us part.
It's sad....

well i'll get the lesbians attacking me again but it's women.
women have always been the staple part of human beings
kept the family together helped the man in money problems and all and all goodness but now with all the men hating i want to have my own life "i'm a independant woman" marriages will not work. Men are taught how to be the man of the house meaning bread winner strong parental statements with women going off course how do you think this effects men. but every woman says "be a man" how can you these days just think if we keep this up women will be as big of "*****" as guys. oh and think about this one ladies men have always been independant men but chooses to give that up to be with a woman if men had said that in say 1910 how many single women that could not get jobs be on the street starving food for thought

In the Arab countries you should get married, but i think people should know each other befor marriage as you mentioned the people are getting devorced more than before

The divorce rate is high because husbands and wives are usually marrying after having sex PRIOR to their marriage; they are marrying because of a pregnancy; they are not putting God first in their homes; husbands are not being the leaders in their homes; children are put first instead of the marriage.
As soon as a wife replaces her marriage with their children, she is opening a wound that is very difficult to heal. Husbands are not being the leaders in their homes.
Finally, selfishness and disrespect are what children are taught by their parents, because their parents are selfish and disrespectful of each other.
The family needs to have a strong faithful foundation with God first, then the marriage, then the children.

In the past people considered that marrying was sacred and should last a life time and didn't divorced if they were unhappy.
Now there are too many possibilities i.e free loving!
Divorce is not a failure

Marrying is good always. Divorce is mostly seen in western countries where people think themselves very advance but they are not satisfied.

well don get married waste of money time and ur feelings that u have invested
if u ever get divorce u have a broken heart juz live together and if ur happy then stay together if not juz saperate
