I never had mine done, but I went with a friend who got hers done one time. She passed out and they had to break an ammonia capsule under her nose to wake her back up. She was pale as mayo after that, and then it didn't heal for weeks and weeks.

I'd get something else pierced, if I were you. Belly button piercing are old hat, anyway.

Totally depends on the person. I've done a zillion navel piercings. Some just lay there like its nothing and sometimes they think it hurts like crazy. If you have a low pain tolerance in general, then yes it will probably hurt. And the healing time on a navel can be up to a year. though it will seem to be healed before it is. Although i will say this, for most people that really want a particular piercing... they will get it regardless of the pain factor.

I didnt think it hurt. The position the put u in is a lil scary kinda like a scarifical position, but wht does hurt is the two weeks after, u cant move fast and is uncomfortable. So dont plan on wearing jeans loose clothing worked well for me.

Yes, beside that the belly button is a sensitive part. Be careful were you have it done.

I'd imagine, belly button piercings were "hot" in the 90's, they just look goofy now.
