I think AOL email is pretty much like every other email account although I find with Yahoo if I sign up for something and have to wait for a conformation email from the company it's here in seconds but with AOL it takes hours and sometimes days to get it.
Overall tho AOL email is good.
I have used AOL service provider for 6 years now and have never had a problem, It sounds like I've been one of the lucky ones tho.

I would steer clear from it. Once you put AOL onto your machine its the Devil's own job to remove it all later on. It embeds itself.
