My Dear Friend,
I have been to Iran and i know a little about this issue. I would like to correct your statement like this that Iran WAS having better relationship with India than Pakistan, now the situation had changed because of the Indian vote in the Security council against Iran. The relationship of Iran was better with India because of the fact that India is one of the most populated countries and thus could become a good export market. But my friend the biggest reason was that, India and Iran were having similar feelings about TALI BANS in Afghanistan while Pakistan was in favor of Taliban. You should know that the Shia- Sunni conflict has been recovered too much and now the Shia-Sunni leaders both are in one political party in Pakistan named as MMA. The relationship of Pakistan and India are moving towards betterment. I wish i have provided you satisfactory informations.
Thanks

First there is economy. India is trying to make good contacts with Iran to get some exclusive rights on products from Iran oilfields.
The rest of the world oil market is divided on USA,EU ,China and Japan ,India has lost the train, and now tries to find some unique sources, second there is no history of hostilities between these countrys, third you would not believe it but Iran is the biggest fighter against heroin and opium smuggling from afganistan and pakistan,
you should see their side of the border with these countrys, it is filled with concrete to stop the caravanas of smuglers.
and finaly on the fourth place is enemity between sunni pashtu tribes which are mostly influenced with mujahedeens from al qaeda , and have anti-shia sentiments.

Money. India has more financial resources with to offer. Cheap goods, energy, and a stable government. Plus Pakistan has been working with the US allot and Iran is really unhappy with that.

If Pakistan was run by religious extremists like Iran I am sure they would get along great.

Iran ...probably couldn't stand another Islam country... well armed and quite developed...and well educated. Pakistan is that country.
