A good place to start your enquiries would be your local IRC at the American Embassy in New Delhi. These often have education officers who support local nationals who wish to study in the U.S.A. and often have resources which you can use to help you refine your search. They also have some info on scholarships and exchange programs (such as the Fulbright) on their website:

They also run the American Library, which you can join locally, and this will allow you borrowing privileges, so you can check in their catalog for educational literature and borrow them through ILL.

No, you have to do the research yourself. We are not paid researchers, and you have not provided enough information to help you if we were. Where in the US do you want to go? Take a look at a list of top engineering schools (learning to use a search engine would seem to be a prerequisite for this type of thing), where they are located, and so on. They will give you all the information you need, and gladly, since foreign students, and out-of-state students for the state-supported schools, are an important source of revenue.

I can tell you it will not be cheap. My own advice would be to concentrate on California and Texas, where many, if not most, of the major electronics firms are located. I live near Silicon Valley in central California, and there are several good schools in the area. University of California at Santa Cruz is just down the hill from me a few miles. Its reputation is good for engineering, although it is also known for its far left politics. Start there, if you need a starting place, and follow whatever links they provide to other suggestions. For private schools, I would say Stanford would be the most famous in this region.

well...for higher engineering studies you can either opt for MS or PhD...since you didn't mention your choice of subject, I cannot provide you the exact details...as for PhD goes...many universities give out financial aid....they waive your tuition fees...and provide a stipend for TA/RA...

why don't you google the universities you are interested....and you'll find all the details from their websites.....

you can check out this site....www.f1study.com....this website might help you.

And remember most of the MS program and all PhD programs start in the fall ,so if you wanna start your course in 2007...you'll have to apply this year...most of the application closes around Dec/Jan...so start now
