...in the next Oxford Dictionary review - will things like LOL, LMAO and LLF - get their rightful place??? I mean if y2k can go in???

Do you think these should be allowed in the dictionary and what else should go in too??

I think it's possible, although I rather hope not. I realise a dictionary has to stay current with the way a language is spoken, the way words are used, elsewise it risks becoming little more than a passably interesting historical document. But at the other end of the spectrum, by including EVERY expression in the english language, I wonder if the OED doesn't risk becoming trivialised and less than authoritative.

I don't think they will as they are too specific to texting and the internet... I would guess that a term like "owned" would get put in as they are used in general everyday use. Y2K was a term used across the board by more than just a single group of people over more than one media type... its more to do with the terms presence in society

Well I don't know what LLF means... *puzzled look* but NO they are never used in everyday speech (well at least I hope they're not) so they shouldn't go into the dictionary.

No I don't think words like that should be allowed, we do not wish to denigrate English language any further with the smack heads vocabularies.

What about including FOAD? I use it when my husband (jokingly!) insults me.

I used it on a neighbour and he had no idea what it meant!
