No, not yet, because almost the entire world are living according to the American dream. It will take a while.

USA was once something a progressive country, but it is falling down meanwhile some other countries do spend their common money on education and prosperity for its entire citizen. US investors move their money abroad to more profitable investments, which give the other countries a great opportunity to be more developed both in industry and education. Look at India and China, counties that uses a lot of money into the infrastructure. Within less than 30 years, we in the US will be a nation behind the most of the civilized countries, if we are not into it already. Normally, one does not see what happens, until it is too late.
The famous Dr Göbels in the Third Reich, once said that if one can repeat a lie over and over again, it will be taken for granted, but it is still a lie.

In the past fifty years, America has begun to crumble. We're no longer respected as a world leader or global peacekeeper, especially since the 'cowboy' Bush administration has taken over. While Nero fiddled, Rome burned.....and while our corrupt, evil, incompetent politicians enrich themselves without regard to the needs of this society, America slowly deteriorates.
But we can't blame the sleazy politicians. We must also blame ourselves. Like lobsters comfortably languishing in a pot of lukewarm water, the water hasn't started to boil yet. Only then will we begin screaming in agony over our own apathy.
Politicians distract us with trivial matters such as non-binding resolutions on flag burning and gay marriages while continuing to suck off the taxpayers' teat.
And, as long as we are preoccupied with maxxed-out credit cards; $3.00-a-gallon fuel for our $60,000.00 SUVs; Jacko's pedophilia; professional landscaping for our $300,000 homes; Britney Spears' love life; the latest rankings of our favorite baseball teams; and "low prices- everyday" at WalMart for junk we don't even need - nothing will change.
The Bush administration has put American taxpayers TRILLIONS of dollars in debt. Our biggest creditor is China. Eventually, China will revoke our line of credit, and will start to foreclose. Since America won't have the funds to maintain a military anymore, China will simply come in and take our oil, military hardware, coal, money, assets, real estate, weapons of mass destruction, and even our women if they're needed for a lucrative sex-slave market.
And we'll sit back and say, "Duh...what the hell happened?"
And our politicians will lean back in their easy chairs, collecting their automatic cost-of-living pay increases and enjoying a lifetime retirement plan with full medical benefits, and say, "Duh....I warned you! I tried my best!"

Thomas Jefferson once said: 'The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.' That time is way overdue.
The Constitution allows us to bear arms against an oppressive and tyrannical government. Voting won't help, because the Republicrats have our political system in such a stranglehold that all we do is replace corrupt Republicans with corrupt Democrats, and vice-versa. It's time for a second American Revolution.
Until we get off the couch, put down the remote, and actually DEMAND to take back our country, nothing will change.
And as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, Americans will just be too damned comfortable to get off our duffs and do anything until, like Rome, our society ends up in ruins.
Don't pooh-pooh this idea; it's happened to every great empire in history. Ask the Romans and the Greeks. If you think it can't happen to America, you're not thinking. -RKO-

I agree with Ron O as far as the state of affairs in the US. All empires fall. It's the nature of the beast. Wether we fall in violence or peace is up to us.
