I like Yahoo Answers because it gives me something to do on my 12 hour shift at this boring desk job. I'm in Iraq for a year and Yahoo Answers helps the time fly until I get back home to my baby. I like talking to people other than my unit who I have to see all day everyday. It's a good way to escape the reality of being here in this heat without my loved ones.

I was going to ask this myself. I was introduced to it a couple of weeks ago and now as soon as I get home I'm logging on, and my wife is staring to get a bit tired of it!

For me it is great because it is an international forum, and it's great to see what people are thinking around the world. It is thought-provoking, funny, heart-breaking, annoying.

You can come out with all kinds of contentious points of view that you wouldn't dream of coming out with amongst friends/family/work colleagues, and it's always nice to find that sometimes people even agree with you!

The anonymity helps people to be totally honest, which is also a good thing, and if it leads to a better understanding of this crazy world we live in - which I think it does - then that is perhaps its greatest value.

Me too. I work for my parents, so they don't particularly care if I'm on the computer most of the day, as long as I do what they want, too. I'm at Level 4 (I started in May), and I'm on here all the time. Maybe because it's a way to share your innermost feelings and knowledge anonymously--there aren't any repercussions, and you don't care so much if the people who read it disagree with you--you don't even know who they are.

Me too! I have to make myself stop answering questions and do things that are productive. I have to get off of my fanny and do some laundry. I would rather answer questions than eat! We are all Yahoo! Junkies!

Yeah it's almost 4 am.. why am I still on here? It's kind of sick. I should be asleep.. oh well it's summer, I work part time, and I don't care. Just don't like have seizures if you can't check yahoo answers everyday.

It is NOT 'addictive' - but adds new perspectives, to what little one knows. Why should anyone not want to know more ?!
:-))
