YES. Even when things are working pain is involved. There is always going to be pain when you decide on someone. That pain takes many forms; not just arguments but little things, like noticing your girlfriend smiling at some attractive guy and reading too much into it. Worrying about what they are thinking when you cannot read their mind. Having a small fight and imagining that the seeds have been planted for the relationship to one day fail...

And then the break up. 99% of all relationships end so this is a part of love. Everyone knows that hardly any break up is mutual. It is almost always a one sided affair. And usually there is no period to accept it: it just happens. Emotionally it is like going 90 mph and then just hitting a wall. Nothing is more painful than loving someone only to have indifference or some kind of pity returned. Nothing.

So, either way, love is pain. But it is a beautiful and exquisite sort of pain. It shows that you have something in this world that is powerful enough to really move you and that means that life was worth living.

My grandmother told me that LOVE is like a fire. You must respect it and tend to it but not to embrace it too closely or you will be burned. I believe her now....... brocken heart and burned so many times when I was single. Now I am married and I respect it..... and I keep warm most of the time because of the flame of love.

so..... yes it hurts........ but only if you have embraced it..... and then lost it. My Mom lost my Dad last year..... I hurt from the loss of my Dad too...... but not nearly as much as she does. LOVE HURTS after you have had it and lost it. But do not be afraid..... for it is better to have loved and lost it, than to not ever loved and missed knowing it.

You can get hurt by someone you love, you can hurt when they hurt, you can hurt when you miss them, but the cruelest hurt of all is love lost

It can. Love can be the most wonderful thing in the world, but it can also be the worst pain you can experience.

Losing someone you love can be very painful, the lose of their love can be overwhelming.

Yes it is, whenever somebody who you love doesn't care much about you it hurts worse than the people who you don't care about that are treating you worse than the people you love that doesn't care about you.

Usually, but it heals over time. It is unavoidable, so you don't need to worry too much. Just go with the flow and try not to do something which will ruin the rest of your life dear.
