It seems these sweaty places are only for the already petite. At least here in LA it seems like you have to be ultra fit before you enter their doors. What do you think? I get these "free" weekly passes all the time.

Not being "stick thin" myself, I have found it very hard to go through those doors as well. But because of a new injury I learned about water walking at one of my local pools. When i went to the pool it was early morning and I had the same feelings. But after getting in there i realized i was surrounded by people whith the same problems as me. Also if you are not into the pool thing ( swimming is a great way to take off weight as well) Try and look into Curves or a place like it. the majority of the time theh people there are just the same as you. And if all else fails and you want to go to LA then just enlist a freind to go with you and don't worry about what others think just concentrate on you and whats going on in your little bubble. And ALWAYS remember if you see someone skinny working had at the gym to stay that way the likelyhood is they were in your shoes at one point as well. Good Luck
