A logo? its an emblem to signify an organization, possibly what they stand for, but in practice usually something quite striking and bold to grab people's attention - in short a marketing tool

Logos are symbols companies use. For instance, the logo for the United Methodist Church is the cross and flame. The hands holding the house is Allstate's logo and so on.

A logo serves to identify the group to which it belongs and all it stands for,it is given several names depending on its use like emblem,symbol,sign,coat of arms and crest.
