These are ways to transfer files:
(1) LAPLINK cable - almost similar to LPT cable, but not exactly same. This is the least expensive.
(2) LAN cable - if both have ethernet card, must configure IPs. Your cable should be cross over if you don't have hub.
(3) modem~modem. not recommend if you don't have Internet connection.
(4) You don't want to buy anything? Then consider to SPLIT the file enough to put on your flash drive!

I'm sorry, the printer cable's not gonna do.The only way,as I know it,is to remove your PC's hard drive and get a 3.5in connector to connect the hard drive and the laptop's usb port. You'll see a removable drive now attached to your laptop. You can proceed to transfer files the way you like.To the best of my knowledge, this is the fastest method of transfering big files.
I hope I've answered your query.Have a nice day.

No... I don' think that will help... And i can't tell you to bring a networks Stuff just for one time use... Try to zip the file and then use this Splitter software from http://www.download.com And then split them into bits...(Better to get and bigger USB drive) after you split them and copying them to your other Laptop then Unsplit them using the same software...

I hope that will help...u

you may want to invest in a 100GB or 200GB external hard drive.
