If you spend alot if time on your computer, could be a symptom of RSI (Repetative Strain Injury) your posture at a computer maybe the reason. Try not to spend a long time sat in the same static position, take regular breaks away from the comp, even stretch a lil every now and then. There are a few ways to help relieve the pain in your shoulders. A good massage and maybe some medicated muscle rub, wuld be handy, (always check the label for side effects or allergic reactions) there are many on the market, some containing natural ingrediants and some wiv medication i.e Ibuprofen. Also u can use a heat pad or a infrared healing lamp, which both are good for strains and muscle pains. Just remember to consult a doctor b4 taking any medication your not sure about. and remember to take regular breaks from any form of work or excersize. Hope this helps

it might me that the muscles in and around your shoulder are in a spasm. This happened to my left shoulder a couple of years ago where it hurt when I changed gears in the car and at one point I couldn't lay down. Best thing to do is to see a chiropractor or a physio. Mine sorted it out after 2 sessions. Taking anti-inflammatories may help but these are only a short term solution and should not be taking over a long period of time without medical advice. Good luck

Get hold of "Body in Action" by Australian physiotherapist Sarah Key. There is a chapter on shoulder pain wth exercises clearly explained and graded from beginners to advanced. These really do work if you persevere with them. Not a quick fix but a long term cure - I speak from experience! See www.sarahkey.com. Good luck.

I have shoulder pain at the moment but i supect that i now have arthritis in the joint cos it's cracking and crunching. The only way that you will be able to tell is if you go to the doctor. He will be able to send you for a X ray or he might be able to say whether you have pulled a muscle or whatever.

I have the exact problem with my right shoulder.I spent 5 hours last night in the emergency room getting x-rays.The doctor said she could not see anything that would cause the pain.I mean this pain is so bad I actually cry!And it hurts worse when I lay down! The doctor sent the x-rays to a specialist to see if they could find anything on the x-rays.

Sounds like you are getting a frozen shoulder. Have you injured yourself recently? Go see your doctor, you might need to be referred for physical therapy.

I suffered for eight months being too stubborn to go to my GP, when I went, being unable to stand it any longer, he gave me a cortizone injection. It cleared up straight away. This was last December and it hasn't come back. Don't suffer unnecessarily, get to the doc's!
