Is Technology Harmful?

i know about some reasons like bad influence on kids and weather, can you think of any more???I need alot of help for this.

Technology is morally neutral and merely a tool. Like any tool it is the use that it is put to that is either harmful or helpful.

Much controversy exists over firearms- they are a very useful tool, but have such a potential for misuse that it is easy to label them "dangerous" and scream to the rafters that they are evil and should be banned. Facts, however, show that in the United Staes of America, they are used thousands of times a year to PREVENT serious injury, murder, and other violent crimes- far more often than they are misused to the detriment of society by a deranged few (of course the deranged few get all the headlines and all the hype).

Technologies (and I say technologies because they are not a single thing but a wide variety of things) are the same- they are used to benefit many and quite often, but it is the deranged few and their nefarious uses of technologies that garner the attention and hype. This clouded thinking is the thing that always stands between humankind and progress- to the detriment of all- inevitably.

In my opinion, thought it can be sometimes great as well it's more harmful than it is helpful.

television for instance has changed cultures and the values of some countries. There was a research done, i think it was in south america. How children were creative and respectful to adults when there was no tv, then the scientists brought tv with them and within a week all they did was just sit and watch television, ignored their parents, just went down hill from there.

I fear that technology will become so big that there wont be any books published anymore, that family values will go out the door, that the english language will disappear altogether(and it is already),etc......
