Aleve, or naproxcyn sodium( I believe) is the same in OTC and the prescription. Usually, a prescription drug is issued OTC at a lower dose or strength. Supposedly so people won't overdose on it. Now, some drugs are OTC at prescription strentgh but, the dosage instructions are different. If you should have any questions at all about prescriptions or OTC drugs, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
