Start with first things first: learn to read tablature. It's sheet music for guitar that you can literally learn to read in 2 minutes. Then go online and look up any of the following sites to learn songs: olga.net, guitarnotes.com, harmony-central.com, guitaretab.com or any other such site. Some simple surf-guitar songs like "pipeline" are pretty cool. Also, some simple blues licks. If you learn the minor pentatonic scale, which is really easy, you can make up your own blues riffs on the fly. A real easy but pretty-sounding classical song to learn is called "romance de amor", it's so ridiculously easy to play and yet all the ladies love it. Hope that helps.
