You must open it up and clean out the dust that has accumulated on the fans and heat sinks, adding fans will not help. You can get a can of compressed air from a computer shop and you can also use a small brush to help dislodge the dust. Good luck!

Well I think insid of mainboard or other hardware are damaged.
You also can take it to repair as you buy the computer can use warranty to claim it.So,Don't worry about the charge is free.If you do easy step open your CPU and start it on again and use the fan cooling the CPU therefore the heat released will release more faster before but if you upgrade your hardware extremely will cause the computer operation to maximum and the heat easy produce as many component doing the jod at the same time.

If you have an AMD processor then get your self an air conditioning system built for the AMD processors and if you have a Pentium processor then get a big fan which is housed in a power supply of a CPU and attach it on the top of the Processor not underneath it it wont help you planting a fan underneath it

Well we need to know your system specifications in order to help you. Such as the manufacturer and model #, CPU, amount of RAM, Video chip type, Size of Hard Drive, etc. (the more the better) I will track this topic and if you can provide this information I am sure we can figure out your over heating problem. Also your manufacturers website may be able to provide the exact information you seek. This could possibly be a known issue with your particular system.

Do everything the others've asked you to do and then try this one out!!
Lets get back to basics-Hot air rises up.So ideally, the new fan must be placed on the upper face of the cabinet.Just drill or cut holes for your fan, coonet it to the SMPS and start it and believe me,it'll work wonders when its operational.
I hope that solves your problem.Have a nice day!!

When you're watching movies take the side of the computer off and make sure it's in a somewhat open area.

Also make sure the dust is blown off of the inside.

Get a better CPU cooler with bigger heatsink, especially those with high fins, for better heat dissipation.

If you are finanically rich, try considering water cool system.
Very popular among the gamers' community who had their overpowered PC system up for days or weeks without shutting down.

open the cabinet and check whether the SMPS shields the ventelation of the processor, it is common with new ATX cabinets. if it is so remove the SMPS and keep it outside the box(do not remove the connections. it is difficult but still you can do that) so that it doesnt shield the processor. But you will have to keep your cabinet open for all time.

Alternatively, you can change your cabinet.

Sounds like a fan needs to be replaced or cleaned. Also be sure you're not keeping it in a spot where it can't receive ventilation.
