We must remember that the word "responsible" implies the ability to respond, presumably in a manor intended to be positive.

All of the governments of the world, are currently headed by supposedly benign dictatorships, of varying numbers of peoples, and structures, but there are no exceptions. The degree of malignancy and narcissism of each one could be debated. What can not be debated, is that the narcissism of dictatorships, always includes a self imposed ignorance of the needs of that which is beyond its immediate self. These dictatorships give new evidence every day of their inability to respond to the global disasters at hand.

If we assume that a more perfect union of peoples is one that is a democratic republic, and that these currently nonexistent democratic republics, were in fact a sufficient majority of the world governments, minds that would no longer be locked out of the discussions, might be able to arrive at collaboratively viable solutions, (and even competitive viable solutions) to global disasters.

This however is an admirable fiction. It will continue to remain a fiction, without the key element of the formula; the well informed citizen. There is a raindrop in an ocean’s worth of possibility that this nearly mythical creature, can become common enough, to infest a majority of people, with the virus of attentiveness and scholarship, to overcome the ultimate enemy of mankind; its own ignorance, arrogance and apathy.

Who would be responsible for the obliteration of mankind?

You and I my friend. You and I.

i guess we'll have ourselves and our govts (govts of the wealthy advanced countries) to blame bcos a civilization restricted to the surface of a single planet has inevitable threats to its long-term existence. Natural threats such as epidemics and impacts from space objects, and man-made threats such as nuclear and biological war, will be joined by new threats from emerging sciences and technologies. If we have self-sufficient human settlements throughout the solar system, and access to life support technology on Earth, humankind would have a secure future. A global catastrophe, although terrible, would not end the human species and the potential of a universe filled with intelligent life. We have a choice between two possible futures: spaceflight or extinction. To do nothing is a choice for the second future. Mars, if we don't go, we won't know...

If all human's were killed or died?
It would be God's fault, don't worry he has been running the show for a while and he ain't planning for all our work to go out the window now, besides he made some promises.

You should still try to be good, this way you can stay with the rest of us for a little longer.

Either time or man himself. We are most likely going to destroy ourselves solely with our selfishness. But look at history and you can tell that no species is destined to stay on earth for long.
Plus we aren't really the best adapted animal on earth, we have evolved away our fur for Christs sake.
