The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Creative Business Guide to Running a Graphic Design Business by Cameron S. Foote
* The Business Side of Creativity: The Complete Guide for Running a Graphic Design or Communications Business by Cameron S. Foote
* Inside the Business of Graphic Design: 60 Leaders Share Their Secrets of Success by Catharine M. Fishel

Check the source box for an article link.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

By designing it ! ;-)

The logo should :
* Be easy to see
* Convey the company characteristics
* Be printable on stationary/caps/tshirts ... i.e. multi bases.
* Have less colours .

Take a look at the logos of the big companies. They are not very stylish but very easy to remember and relate to .

also look at the logos of some opensource software like :
* linux : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TUX

Also check the wiki entry on Logo and you will get more ideas.

you're very obscure on your question, do you've any specs on the emblem ... like colour palette, possibly some symbols that you're searching at, what precisely you want the emblem to say about the corporation, etc. No photo fashion designer works from scratch, so imagine about it like that.
