I really enjoyed thinking about this question...and came to the conclusion that I am both a lightning rod (no kidding, there is something going on in my life at every moment) and a grounding wire.
Events happen to me more than most, I swear I'm not paranoid. Yet, when my friends have a crisis, need a favor, advice, or a shoulder I'm usually pretty high on the call list. =)

I am the 'needing to be grounded' one. Hubby is the grounding (grinding)wire.
