Is it possible and if it is possible are there any limitations?

I am talking about San Francisco State UNIVERSITY and San Diego State UNIVERSITY.

What is that other guy talking about? I think he's craaaaaazy--watch out.

It's definitely possible but why would you want to leave the bay area? It's awesome up here!!

You would have to apply (as a transfer) to San Diego and get accepted. Then you would talk to your academic advisor about getting everything in order. You also have to go through the process of making sure that certian credits transfer to the right level and department, etc. It's too late to transfer for this coming fall but you could take a year off if that's how strongly you felt about it!! It really should be a big deal to transfer because they are both comperable state schools! You won't be trading one school for another in terms of academics!! San Diego is beautiful (though the bay area will always be my home)!

Usually transfers between state prisons are handled by the authorities. You might start by asking you guards and perhaps send a request to the warden.

You will be limited by the length of your sentence of course, but you may be able to extend your stay.
