How funny some of these answers are, haha. It will NOT hurt or kill the snake to feed him before he sheds his skin. Some snakes will take the food and some won't. If he doesn't eat right away then just take back the food and next time you will know to wait. The main way that snakes hunt is through smell anyways so he will know its there even if his eyes are glazed over and he can't see. Snakes can go a long time without eating, he could probably go a month or more no problem, so if he doesn't take the food then don't worry just wait until he sheds.
Just make sure that he has a large enough bowl of water in his cage to soak if he needs to, and to keep the humidity up in his cage to make the process easier for him.

you should wait until the snake is done shedding. usually thats how i can tell when my snakes are going to shed soon..they don't eat. and dependin on the size of the snake you're not suppose to feed them every week. my columbian red tail is over 6' i feed him ever 2-3 weeks. and my ball python i feed every other week.

and to the person who said this "wait till he's done shedding, he probably won't eat during the molting process anyhow."

SNAKES DONT MOLT BIRDS MOLT!!!!! I heard someone say that when i went to the zoo. SNAKES SHED. BIRDS MOLT.

Don't try to feed him now. I raised a boa from age 1 to 7, they shed, then they need a week to recover, then a week to be nice, then the fourth week to hunt. In the 7th year I bought small rabbits for it to hunt. He had his own bedroom, with a desert setting. Be real careful wiith the snake, or it will die. They have to be in what seems to them a 'natural environment' or they won't seek or attack food sources, and the prey must be live small animals. When I got drafted in '70, I took my boa wrapped inside my coat, on the plane to Texas. where the military guards, frisking me were very suprised. and eventually had to donate my boa to the San Antonio Zoo. She just died 4 years ago. Normally boa's out live humans, unless in captivity.

Many snakes won't eat while they are shedding. I would wait especially if you feed live prey.
