I lived in Chicago for three years and didn't own a car. I saved enough money for a down payment on a house and a fantastic four week vacation (New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji). I now live in Northern California... I miss the blue line... the red line... and Chicago's fantastic public transportation system. Yes, we should invest in public transportation... especially in large metropolitan areas.

well if we stop building more roads and we keep them were we are at now then all yo uare doing is adding more cars & buses to the same old roads and people arnt just gonna give up there cars to start ridding a bus yet plus are roads are in real bad shape right now (i.e. the interstae syatem ) so all in all i think buliding more public transport in stead of fixing and building new roads is a bad idea + whats the new public transport system gonna run air?
