Season two of Grey's Anatomy, the episode involving two people impaled after a train crash...?

Very moving scene about choosing which person to remove from the pole (this person will die) so that the others life can be saved by slowly removing him from the pole and fixing him bit-by-bit. After removing the poor girl from the pole and killing her instantly, they sawed the pole in two. Why could they not have sawn the pole in two beforehand - they would have been able to try and save both lives!

I don't think because the vibrations from the cutter would have immediately killed them both or her because of the organs that it had punctured...also really surprising to see the woman recieving all the phone calls and her sister (or friend I don't quite remember) the one actually admitted into the hospital lives and she dies...I think it was because she refused to get checked out and had internal bleeding...I really enjoy watching that show missed a good part of the season because of work....which sucks cuz I'm addicted to it.

Can't wait for season 2 to come out on DVD that is if it hasn't already.

They had to remove one because they needed the pole to be completely still and not move one inch otherwise both would have died. They said they couldnt save her anyway, once they removed the pole she was going to bleed out.

It's just the television show. The whole point of sequence emotionally is the choice. If you change the circumstances you change the psychological impact.

Damn, that show gets that good? When do the reruns start?
I would have to see the show first to guess at the answer to the question.

I love that show! The episodes make you laugh, cry, and get mad. I remember that episode well, I remember turning the chanel so I wouldnt have to see who died.
