Let me give you a bit of wisdom that I learned, and I better get the 10 points for this one bucko!

First you decide if your parents are morning people or evening people then you get a paper route. The earlier the better if they are evening people and if they are morning people then try to start when they back from work. The important thing is that you find a time that is not comfortable for them and make them walk with you. Don't use your bike unless it is mostly uphill.

Anyway after a week of this or so they may consider letting you go by yourself but don't be the one to bring it up. This is very important as it stresses that you are getting more independant and that you are responsible enought to start working.

You can also mention to your parents that a helicopter pilot told you this. Video games are good for your mental development. It trains your brain to view something in 2d and expand it to 3d. All my video game experience made the training on the simulator so much easier and helped in manipulating the controls. My friend has a job testing vehicle emissions he has to watch a screen while accelerating and decelerating a car. When he was interviewed his future boss asked him if he played video games (We used to play Tecmo Bowl together when we were your age on the first generation Nintendo and now it's Madden 06 on the PS2) and he said yes. He was hired on the spot because the manager found that people that played video games had better hand eye coordination to operate the testing equipment.

Work hard for your 360 and enjoy it. Play lots of video games and then go and become a fighter pilot or something.

Good luck!

Have a yard sale...that's what I do when I need extra cash. I find stuff around my house that I do't need anymore or that I don't want and I put it out on my front lawn and sell it. I live in a small town and I usually make around $150 each time. It's easy and simple. I know xbox's are much more but it's a start. Have a car wash in your yard, doggy washing weekend, mow your neighbors lawn...seriously, use your imagination, work hard and soon you'll have the money earned. *good luck*

Start mowing lawns in your neighborhood. There is bound to be someone on your street who would rather pay you less than a professional service and not have to do it themselves.
