Granted, there's more fans in the stands and the TV audience is bigger but it's not the outlaw ECW were so used to.

Totally. Vince McMahon screwed the whole idea of ECW up. "Extreme Rules Match" my ***, all ECW used to be was Extreme. Now that Vince got involved it's been totally retarded. I think things will get better after they get going and Heyman doesn't need Vince's $$$$ anymore.

Yes! It is too mainstream for the buildup that it has been receiving for the past two years. The WWE has released DVDs such as the Rise and Fall of ECW, and ECW Most Violent Matches to build for the "New" ECW. Now that the "New" ECW is in place it is nothing like the ECW that the WWE has wanted us to believe it would be. First of all I have yet to see a HARDCORE match that could equal any HARDCORE match of the old ECW. When Heyman owned ECW he had one goal in mind and that was to reach an adult audience. WWE has always wanted to straddle the fence on this issue. Sure they had the attitude era, but it was nothing like what the ECW was doing. If you look at the progression of WWE Brands common sense would tell you that Vince could appeal to all three age groups using the three different brands. Smackdown already is a family friendly brand for the most part, raw is edgy during it's second hour, and ECW could be more adult oriented to appeal to a more blood thirsty crowd. Leave smackdown for the kids, Raw for the Teens, and make ECW an adult show.

Well, i've posted this on here several times but, no, the new ecw isn't what it used to be. I mean, we have slightly a bit of the old feel. I mean look at last night. Sabu vs Richards. That was an ECW match. Sure no tables or chairs as were used to but we saw what the old ECW never really did, showcased Sabu's wrestling skills. I like the new ECW because its something new. However, it is nowhere close to the original. But, I still support it because i'm a fan of ECW and i'd like to see more ECW dvd's on my shelf. And maybe even a game in the future. But as I said, not the original, and don't like some of it like sandman jobbing to a no name like mike knox, but its still ok, just don't forget this is the new "ecw" not the hardcore orginal I fell in love with back in 1999.

OH yeah. And Tommy and Heyman aren't even writing the stuff any more it is the WWE creative team that is why most of the ECW wrestler aren't getting much of a push at all. In all honesty they are giving more push to Kelly then anyone else. Plus the arenas they film in are the ones they just filmed smackdown in. So there aren't that many ECW fans there.

I think so. I watched ECW tonight and it was just like watching Raw and Smack Down. There was none of the old oomph that ECW used to have. No blood. No gore. Just 'entertainment', Vince M. style.

Just consider it WECW, combining a bit of WWE with what ECW was...

It's not THE ECW, it's A ECW.... just accept that for what it is.

I hope that after they have an established fan base large enough for SciFi to take the heat, they will go back to the old ways. But if they did it now SciFi would probably drop the show due to violence and complaints. All I can do is watch and see!
