No, our problem is not the Mexicans, but guarding our borders. If a family of 5 can just waltz across our border, then I'm sure a well financed terrorist group can also.

I don't think I have EVER heard an American claim that illegal aliens are responsible for economic problems in the U.S.

Wouldn't you go to a neighboring country for
better wages and benefits to support your family?

Sure, but I would do it legally. That is what most Americans have a problem with. The illegal immigrants need to quit breaking the law and become American citizens and enjoy the benefits of such or they need to go home.

Doesn't big corporations share in the responsiblity of the
sagging economy by using cheap labor?

Sure they do. Another part of the sagging economy and I belive it even plays a bigger part than the cheep labor is that manufacturers and companies have been doing outsourcing to other countries.

What about the NAFTA treaty ?Does it provide equal
economic growth to the countries involved?

I really can't answer that but I would hazard a guess that it benefits everyone but the U.S.

Does NAFTA work ?

Again I can't answer that.

What about the fact that some of these illegal aliens
do become better citizens than some citizens born
here.-Citizenship does not solely have to do with
where one is born?

It isn't about how good of a citizen they are as they arn't citizens at all. They are criminals. The need to follow the legal process to become a citizen and then I will gladly accept them as a productive member of my community. Untill then they are on the same level as a burglar or a bank robber. Criminals.

I don't care where someone is born. But citizenship (and whether or not the chose to break the law) is a choice. they need to do what is right and become a citizen if they want to be in the U.S.

Could our economic system run successfully
without these workers?

It dosn't matter. It would be like saying "how can we lock up a robber as it might hurt our economic system?" There will be others who will be willing to become Legal Citizens who will replace those who illegally snuck into our country.

Would you stay in an area with no job or means
of support; especially in a country with no
system for assisting the jobless?

Just becuse someone is hungry it dosn't ok their robbing a bank. No I wouldn't stay but I would do things legally.

What solutions can the Bush administration
and President Vincent Fox implement
economically to control the illegal alien
problem as well as bolster both economies?

They both need to make it easier to become an American citizen or to get Dual Citizenship. A better guest worker program would help too. But there needs to be harsh punishment for those who abuse the system by doing things like using the guest worker program to get into the U.S. and then never go back.

Understand I don't mind people coming to the U.S., they simply need to do it legally.

To say that every immigrant who comes to the United States is not welcome because they are illegal is a matter for the Immigration and Naturalization Service. I don't work for the INS, so, if I see someone with blond hair, blue eyes, nice figure and wearing a mini-skirt, I am not going to walk up to her and ask to see her Green Card. I would probably ask her for her telephone number !

But, immigrants from south of the border do have a tribal/physical appearance that can easily be associated with others of the same nationality that have broken the law in other ways besides being here illegally.

The association becomes more easily definable between the immigrant who broke the law and the immigrant who just wants to work and support his family back home.

When someone of any other nationality or heritage gets into trouble, we don't point at them and offer up the same criticism.

Al Pacino, playing Antonio Montana, in the movie, Scarface, gave a long and druken dissitation in the film after he, Pacino (Montana),
had gotten into a fight with Michelle Pfeiffer after dinner in a restaurant.

Pacino gets up from his seat and begins...

What are you all looking at...you neva saw a bad guy, before...O.K., here I am, the bad guy. You need me...you need the bad guy...You point you finga at somebody and say there goes the bad guy, what does that make you, good...You not good, you just know howda hide. So, take a look at the bad guy because this is the last time you gonna see a bad guy...." and Montana now leaves the restaurant.

This is the last time you gonna see a bad guy because once he blends in and becomes an American, you don't see him, anymore. He now becomes the invisible man who makes billions polluting the air/waters and contaminating the ground.

Who holds the invisible men in society responsible?... Those people who hide behind ccorporate structures and non-existant bank accounts in the Caymen Islands. You hide a tree in the forest with other trees and you will never find that one single tree.

President Fox should be held fully accountable and a complete independent audit by a non governmental accounting firm should audit the Mexican treasury/finances and President Bush must hold President Fox of Mexico full accountable. NAFTA would work, if we take the corruption out of the agreement.

So, the question should be... who is good...and, who knows howda hide?

Most complain because they are ignorant... We all benefit from the illegal aliens. Cheap labor at home keeps the cost of everything down. No one cries when they hire a local contractor using a low skill illegal alien to maintain their grounds... If they didn't like it, they would go out and hire an American college graduate for 4 times the rate if they could find one willing to do the work... We all need to stop being ignorant and selfish :)

Its because they dont opt to be certain the reality what is going on in this u . s . and its a lot less complicated responsible others. The economic equipment isnt taking position because of illegals its taking position because Bush likes to bypass the dollar and under no circumstances confront some thing or attempt to fix some thing. he's continuously passing subject matters off or blaming others along with congress. He drove this economic equipment down. Do you imagine he cares about the cost of gas and oil? He owns oil why may he care. it is the undertaking with our economic equipment!

You said: "Wouldn't you go to a neighboring country for
better wages and benefits to support your family?" Why does'nt THAT country, (the one they came from) GIVE them better wages and benefits? The country they came from is very corrupt! Overpopulation is another major problem. If these people are so poor, why are they having so many babies? Why should other people have to take care of them? That is what's know as an individual responsiblity.

Funny, I have never heard them blamed for any economic problems in the US. Last I heard, before the gas crisis, we had a great economy.

It is easy for somebody who doesn't live on a border state to close their eyes to the problem. However, if you live in a state like Arizona it is a real visible problem.

Do you that on the border of Arizona there are farms. They are gated to protect their life stock. The illegals cut fences to cross private property. They not only destroy private property, but they litter it badly too. As someone who lives in Arizona, I have seen the damage and destruction on the news.

Did you know that third world countries don't have vacinations. When a Mexico citizen comes across the border illegally, he is not vacinated and is a threat to our health. Especially if it is a child in my kids classroom.

How about identity theft. They need a social security number to work. Its not your number their going to steal, but someone like me who lives in Arizona.

How about Coyote violence and highway shootings. These are real look it up in the news or on google.

How about jobs that my teenagers could take. The McDonalds, and other fast food places here, higher mostly illegals. Not to mention construction jobs. Don't tell me our own citizens wouldn't do these jobs.

They come to America and they don't bother learning English. They don't want to fit into our culture, they want to make America another Mexico.

Would you like me to go on further? Shall I tell you how they walk down the street unzip it and pee anywhere????

This is a real problem that nots going to go away just because it is in the media. We live it everyday.

Well first off, our hard tax dollars go to pay for these stinky illegals to sit down and do nothing all day long. Each major city in the United States has started some Bullshit Inner City Program to help or AID these people to take advantage of the legal system. I say send them all back and make them pay fines for abusing our fine economic system.

The illegals take our money over to their country. It doesn't make sense to bring up so many other problems we have with our economy to show that the illegals aren't the only problem. It's like with drugs. "Why get rid of shrooms when there are worse drugs like crack?" We don't want them to stop coming here because we don't think they're good people, we want them to stop coming here because they are overcrowding our country and ruining the economy. The percentage of Hispanics is increasing rapidly. I want them to live happily, it's just that them coming here is too much of a cost.

nobody would care if the media didn't make abig deal about it. there is a history of immigrant bashing whenever the economy is about to take a dump, or when the politicians are trying to prime the people to hate so they will go to the polls and vote for them.
