when you're home throughout the day, do you lock your doors? Or are you like me and leave them unlocked? When you run to the store do you lock your doors? Or are you like me and leave them unlocked, leaving the housekeys on the counter. When you go to bed at night, do you sometimes forget to lock the door, but then think "oh well I feel safe". And leave them unlocked? That's how safe I feel in the small town I live in, in Alberta. So, how do you feel and where are you from?

I feel safe in my home. I don't lock the doors when I'm at home and awake. I always lock them when I go somewhere though (except when I take the garbage out or clean the corridors of course), because it's quite common here that burglars go into flats when noone is home, but it's very rare that they enter a flat when someone is home. I don't mind leaving the doors unlocked for the night, but because my husband prefers them locked we lock them before we go to sleep.

I live in the Czech Republic.

I leave the front door unlocked when I'm home, but if I go out I lock it because there are a lot of valuable things - I don't want to risk losing any of it.

I lock the door when I go to bed or if I'm taking a shower!! Too risky... haha

at my house there are 7 people living here so we all come and go at different times. so we never lock the door.
and that's okay we don't lock our doors i feel really safe where i live. and i live in a pretty good size city in CA. plus if someone is going to come in my house when i am not aware of it and take my stuff then i guess they needed it more than i do its just stuff.

Me and my roommate used to leave our door unlocked in college, because I trusted the people in the dorms and little knowledge was not disseminated throughout the building, so we didn't care.

Then I got a new roommate and he locked the doors, never fun to be stuck outside your room until the RA got back at 9PM.

I feel very safe in my home, but I have 3 boxers and a pitt bull that live in the house with me, and 2 Saint Bernard's that live in the back yard. I feel sorry for anybody that would try to get into my house.
