Better to listen to a speaker than a singer to learn an accent. Check out some dialogue tapes.

You should probably listen to a native speaker instead of a singer, but if you want to listen to a singer, try:
1. Corinne Bailey Rae
2. Chris Martin from Coldplay
3. Jaime Cullum
or 4. Charlotte Church (if you like classical music)

There's not really a British accent. It varies a lot regionally.

Some obvious ones are Coldplay, Athlete, Franz Ferdinand, and Modest Mouse I think...

But I'll tell you something...
