I'm curious as to the process that most Beatles songs went through from becomming an idea in one of their heads to a song. How much did producer (Martin) and sound enginner (Emerick) play a part in the final rendition of the song as we know them?

None of the above answers are worth anything except the previous one before mine. An excellent book to pick up dealing with this exact topic is called "A Hard Day's Write" by Steve Turner. Check on half.com and you will find a cheap copy. I read it and it tells the story and inspiration behind ever Beatles' sone ever written.

Lennon and McCartney formed a partnership early in their careers.Although they mostly wrote separately and bounced ideas off of each other.George Harrison had to struggle to get more of his songs on the albums but eventually was getting one or two tracks per album.Ringo didn't do much writing but did contribute a few songs.George Martin was called the fifth Beatle for a reason. He was very instrumental not only in the final mixes but offered different instrumentation choices and directions in the studio.
