You already look fabulous! If you really must wear foundations, check with Bobbi Brown, or Ben Nye... Ben Nye is a theatrical makeup company and they have a pallette of about 100 colors of foundation... when a guy at a shop pulled it out one day for me, I was amazed to see how diverse this planet really is. Beauty in so many shades :)

That is a completely true and frustrating thing.

I'm a olive toned person and I can find a close shade okay BUT when i go to the store i never see the whole tone spectrum available like it should be.

it almost reminds me of band-aids... before the clear ones came out, they were all that generic peachy colour.

Bobbi Brown cosmetics I heard as the best foundations for all skin tones and colours.. she suggests to everyone to try mixing three close bottles until it matches truly when using other brands because an over the counter shade will rarely match anybody perfectly.

(i get turned orange alot, or look chalky so don't feel bad!)

You know what? I just noticed that. But as a tip, go on everydayminerals.com. This company sends samples for free. See if any of those dark shades go with your skin color. Good Luck.

Check in some stores like Dillard's and you'll find a brand called "Fashion Fair" and it's specifically for women with dark skin. I have a few friends that love it.

I've been asking myself the same question until I discovered Prescriptives, famous for their custom blends. BobbyBrown is also another alternative. If price is a factor, check out the darker range that Bodyshop offers.

Because most of the big companies refuse to cater to black women, and especially mixed women.

you need to look in brands formulated for dark skin- not only do they have the shades they are formulated not to look chalky on deep skin tones:
