alanis is engage to that guy in "just friends" forgot his name. He was also in Blade Trinity.
Fiona Apple came out with her 3rd cd earlier this year..pretty good...just not a commercial hit.
Haven't heard from Mazzy Star.
Avril Lavigne just got married to that lead singer of Good Charlotte...forgot his name too.

I can definitely give you an answer about Mazzy Star; they are my favorite band after all. They have somewhat unofficially broken up sometime after '96 when they released "Among My Swan", and there's all sorts of rumors that they have some unreleased material that could come out sometime soon. I bet 'cha it won't happen, though. The lead singer, Hope Sandoval, released her own solo album "Bavarian Fruit Bread" back in 2001, and I'll tell ya, it's a really lovely album. She's also done appearances on other albums. Unfortunately, we haven't heard any new material from Mazzy Star for years, but hopefully either the band or Hope Sandoval will release some new music soon. Oh, it was also rumored that a DVD of Mazzy Star footage called "Unreflected" would come out, but that's certainly not been officially confirmed. I really don't know but now that you did mention they have been out of the picture for a while. I actually saw Alanis like a couple of months ago and she cut her hair super super short I don't know what she was thinking. It doesn't even look like her anymore. As far as the others haven't heard much about them. I think it was Avril Lavigne that got married this weekend somewhere out in Santa Barabara or something. I think it was her I'm really not sure.

Don't know about the others, but Fiona had an album out recently called "Extraordinary Machine." Avril is still around, but I don't think Courtney is still with Hole...I think she's just doing solo stuff.
