For those who say god, could they please cite some independent experiments or observations that support this. Otherwise we can conclusively assume they are wrong.

Read Steven Hawkins website for an explanation of the origins of the universe in terms of imaginary time. This allows the laws of physics to have immutable form (ie they do not stop at the big bang) and make the question go away.

Some will quibble with your choice of the pronoun "Who". The better phraseology might be: How was the universe created? To which the only answer that can now be given (and, in my opinion, could ever be given) is: We don't know. If you wish to believe in a god that did it, and laid down all the rules by which it works, you are quite at liberty to do so. But because such a theory could never be proven wrong, it can't predict anything. Which makes it rather pointless.

If you are asking WHO created the universe, I can't see how you can avoid mentioning anything religious or spiritual. Perhaps we could follow your directions if you asked WHAT created the universe.

However, I believe God created the universe out of the rawest of all materials: NOTHING!

Sorry I snuck some spiritual stuff in here.

It is true that universe exists. But the question assumes an answer before questioning. Why should it be created?

Suppose you assume that some creater has created the universe then the question follows,"Who creatred the creater?"

Therefore I think the question is beyond reasoning.

There are things for which you cannot find the begining, universe is one among them.

Universe exists and nothing more to answer. Any answer is not based on reasoning.

You asked not the mention anything religious or spiritual - but there is only one answer. God created the universe and everyone / everything in it.

There is no end to this questions...many people have answered god but then there has to be someone above him who created him. What was the first thing that came into existance?

Science can't provide all the answers and this is where the need for unification of science and religion arises.
Science can't answer these questions...this is where faith steps in.
There is no right answer you can believe whatever you want to believe according to your faith.

That is beyond our comprehension so most people (with of course some exceptions) call it God. This concept extends from the most scientifically advanced societies to the most backward on our planet and possibly throughout the universe.

If you are going to phrase the question as "who created", you are leaving no option but to refer to religious/spiritual in a direct answer. So it's a trick question.
