The only color-direction connection I know of is associated with Buddhist cosmology and follows this pattern. The east is indicated by white, west by red, north by green and the south by yellow while the center is painted blue. These colors are typically used in this fashion when creating a Mandala, most closely associated with Vajrayana Buddhism.

Beyond that, I'm not familiar with any specific color-direction connection. Hope that helps.
