Wasn't American Conservatism rooted in rural life in touch with family values and love for the land and the small farming communities which helped each other like the Amish and the Menonites and the Jews still do today?

This Q is equivalent to a Q asked about American Conservativism who demonize Am Liberalism because as an Independent voter I want to understand the political pathology that has taken root in the US and has divided us as a nation.

Real conservatism was rooted in rural life and family values, but nowadays, the label of conservatism has become politicised and poisoned by people who have no morality or integrity, and wish to turn this country into the next Soviet Union. With the way conservative leadership and many of it's followers have been misled so easily by those wishing to do the country harm, I don't think equating it to fascism is of the mark at all. If you pay attention to what is going on under the guidance of these people, disregard of our constitution and civil rights, misleading of the American people, turning a blind eye to suffering around us, censuring of dissent and open dialogue, you would realise that many of the ideals that conservatives hold dear are much like the ones fascists all over the world have cheered on time and time again. I know this is hard for you, but try looking into history and making comparisons with places like the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and the modern conservatives and their policies and see if you see any parallels.

No family values for them anymore.
Newt Ginghrich had 3 divorces and served divorce papers to one of his wives when she was still waking up from cancer surgery,

Rush Limbaugh has 3 divorces and is a drug addict.

And former Nazi Karl Grunwald couldn't believe how similar Nazi ideology was to conservative.

In fact Bush's grandfather Prescott Bush was a Nazi sympathizer. The Bush family had investments with Nazi's.

Conservative Arnold Schwarzanegger's dad was a Nazi.

If you want some real proof of the conservative connection click on this web. Especially the Bohemian Grove section. http://infowars.com/

i imagine there's a area of reality to their protestations...i imagine that liberalism as all of us recognize it at present is a 'tender spot' which will be a tempting objective for individuals from different international places to attempt to make the most of. i imagine in some circumstances there is been information of that already, our international locations' universities, rather of turning out good-flight scientists, medical doctors, etc, have executed a superlative job of turning out political pundits and overseas-pastime advocates. the U. S. is a rustic, self sufficient of something of the international. it really is area of why we are so sturdy, we do for ourselves and do not ask for help till we flat-out won't be able to get by skill of with out it. even as partnerships with different international places are all sturdy and positive, it particular helps to keep the information in recommendations, on the coolest of the day, and by no skill get TOO chummy...

I don't think that they demonize "Conservatism," so much as they demonize the dogmatic, unyielding "Neo-Conservatism." There are "traditional" Conservatives, such as George Will, who have expressed disdain for the neocon movement.

anyone who opposes liberals is automatically a Nazi. they respect every ones right to do whatever they want and every ones opinion except the conservative crowd. for instance, its OK for homosexuals to want to be gay, but a conservative person is a Nazi for thinking it is abnormal to be homosexual. you have to be ultra liberal and you cannot have your own opinion on any subject contrary to theirs. I'm not saying i personally hold any of these beliefs, I'm just saying liberals are hypocritical.

thats why democrats even hate their own kind, like joe lieberman
