It a little early to feel the baby, it may just be gas. Also you should try sleeping on your side for, preferably left, so that way you can get used to it before you actually have to sleep on your side. You can't sleep on your tummy the whole time and sleeping on your back puts added pressure on the spine. My doctor told me to sleep on my left because of blood flow. It will be easier to get used to a diff. sleeping position now, than later when your uncomfortable for other reasons. At leats when your uncomfortable later it won't be becuase your tyring a new sleeping position.

Well, first you need to go to your doctor and get educated. Then consider that your baby barely resembles a baby and isn't big enought to be making you show yet, so figure you can't feel anything when it moves. You actually don't feel anything until about 20 weeks if it's your first pregnancy. I'm 8 weeks and I still sleep on my stomach part of the time, but again, the baby hasn't even filled up the uterus yet. Buy a few books, see a doctor.

The baby is moving at 9 weeks, but it is totally suspended in the amniotic fluid. It has very little strength and it doesn't really press against the wall of the uterus, so you don't feel it. What you are feeling are probably gas pains or other kinks and tugs as your body gets ready for your baby to get bigger.
It is best to get in the habit of sleeping on your left side. While you cannot hurt the baby by sleeping on your stomach, it will become impossible to continue to do so as your belly gets bigger, and it could put unecessary pressure on the baby. Sleeping on your left side is said to be the best because the blood flows best in that position. They say to put a pillow between your knees, but it has taken me until 22 weeks to get used to that.
Good luck.

Its really unlikely for you to feel the baby this early, but it is possible....all pregnancies are different so there is no one correct answer for that. Although a lot of times for first time moms they believe that there are feeling the baby move and its really just gas. As far as sleeping on your belly I was 3 months and asked my doctor about it and she said that it was fine it wasnt early enough to really matter. I started sleeping on my side as soon as I found out though just because Ive always sleep on my stomach and I knew it would be hard for me to readjust so I tired to get use to it asap. Some people say that it is ok to sleep on your stomach though out your whole pregnancy as long as your stomach is not hurting or anything, there is a lot of different fluids and other things protecting your baby so some believe that it is ok. I would ask my doctor about that one and go by what he/she says. Anyway good luck and congrats.

No, you cannot feel the baby at 9 weeks. Usually you won't feel the baby til 14 weeks or after. Also, with this being your first, you may not realize that is what you are feeling at first. It is ok to sleep on your stomach if that is what you are asking but the best position to sleep on is your left side to provide more blood flow and oxygen to the baby.

If this is your first baby it is extreamly unlikly that you are feeling the baby at 9 weeks.. you usually do not feel the baby until about 16-20 weeks first time around... if you feel comfortable on your tummy go ahead and sleep on it... cause in a couple of weeks you will not feel comfortable and then you will crave to sleep on your belly!!!! good luck

Yes it's safe to sleep on your belly, you can't control your sleep position anyway, only how you fall asleep. It's a matter of comfort for you, your baby will be fine no matter what position you sleep in. At this point your baby is so small there's no way you could feel it moving.

9 weeks is very early to feel the baby especially if this is your first child. You are probably experiencing gas which some women mistake as the baby moving.
Here is a pregnancy website for you to go to:
http://www.smartmomma.com/Pregnancy/pregnancy_main.htm
There is week to week information on your baby and how big he or she is and what to expect. Good luck!

"Quickening" (i.e., feeling the baby's movement) generally occurs much later than 9 weeks.
However, fetuses CAN start to move around 10 weeks but women generally cannot feel this until the fetus develops further and becomes stronger.
You should be speaking to your ob-gyn about "how to do things" not looking for anonymous input via the internet.

no. "Quickening" usually occurs around 18 weeks. I don't know about "stuff", but it is safe to sleep on your belly at this stage. Enjoy it while it lasts.
