Israel acts as the intermediary between the US and certain rogue countries that the US sells weapons to. That's one reason. The US cannot be seen selling guns to South Africa, for example, so they sell them to Israel and Israel sells them on. That gives Israel a certain amount of power over the US because the US wants / needs the money from those sales.

Simply put, Israel is conveniently located.
50 years ago, we could have given the jews a homeland of their own right in our backyard, or in Canada, or in Europe somewhere (Of course this would have deffinately made the nutcase, who is currently the President of the "Islamic" republic of Iran, a very happy person!), but we let them build this Jewish homeland near the Holyland. Not because it was the Holyland, but simply because we knew then as we know now, that there are a lot of bad people in the Middle East. And in order to "take care of them" if they go out of line, the current location and indeed the existence of Israel is very important and thus we must go out of our way, always, to support and protect it.
Without this "special arrangement" we would have to get the approval of Congress and the American people each time we want to bomb the piss out of Syria, or the Hezbollah, Or Hamas, or yes, even the Iranians. This set up requires no perimissions, approvals, votes of any kind. Just a "little nudge" and the co-operation of Israel. No fuss! No dramas! No nothing. They are glad to do it. Its simple, convenient and efficent! Period!
And oh, by the way? Being that you claim to know the facts about the region and Israel, I would have thoguht that you knew, Israel has no oil!

Israel has no oil, the State of Israel perpetuates the guilt complex held by the US & the England because of what the Nazi's did to the Jewish People during WW2
Also given their victory in WW2, the state of Israel was formed with the guarantee of security given by the US & England

The problem is that we made an investment when we assisted in the creation of Israel. I mean think about that. Wouldn't it just be crazy to help create a nation only to turn your back on it 50+ years later?
The politicians saying that have two motivations:
1. To stir up prejudices because of an election year.
2. They are looking for an excuse not to expand the war because they are afraid... cowardly.

Israel has been thought of as being the only true democracy in the middle east. But from my viewpoint it's still a religious state, or is that just some nice design on their flag.

WTF does oil and Israel have to do with each other? Israel does not have oil. Infact our support for Israel puts us at odds with many of the oil producing nations.
You seem to think you are the know it all. Let's hear your opinion.

You only want answers that 'please you' presumably. You probably can't handle the truth. I'd be asking what the Zionists' interests are in America
