It seems to me that more and more these car manufacturers are recalling cars back because of some sort of malfunction on their part.....>>>>>>>This is my idea on how to stop this from happening over and over>>>>>>>>I think since these manufacturers get by with everything, problem wise and price wise, we should have a senator bring a vote to the floor that everytime a car is recalled, that the owner of that car should receive half the value of that car paid to them>>>>>>>These manufacturers set a price range, and we (fools that we are) pay the price......>>>>>And with the price of cars that we have to pay, nothing should go wrong with them. Ever.....>>>>>This would help to prevent the manufacturers employees from screwing up to begin with....What do you think????????

when there is a recall for any part of a vehicle (no matter what make) the manufacturer will repair or replace that part for free. Usually the manufacturer will send you a notice stating there has been a recall on the vehicle you own. all you have to do is make an appointment at the dealership you bought the car from and it will be fixed at no cost to you. That is the law

I look at recalls as a manufacturer being responsible and making sure their product is safe. The bigger the recall, the more it costs them, so it's in their interest to keep recalls out of the picture. I work in the automotive manufacturing industry (seatbelts) and a recall is the WORST possible situation, because our product saves lives. We avoid recall at all costs, because as a supplier to auto manufacturers, it would both bankrupt the company to have to pay for the recall costs, but end the reputation of having a product that can be relied on.

why don't you go after the source of the problem--competition? We should have a communist government, and there should be no choices. Then companies could take all the time in the world to make sure every works correctly before releasing the product, whether the product is health care, computers or cars.

I think it is worse when drug companies make mistakes.

In addition, cars cost the price they do because of the hours of R&D and engineering that goes into it. You want to make cars cheaper. Try making everything cheaper. One can start by not shopping at places like Walmart. One can buy himself out of a job.

Anyhows, everyone makes mistakes. I don't think a recall is bad.

Read Consumer Reports magazine and buy a vehicle that gets good ratings. You won't have a problem with recalls. If consumers educate themselves and quit buying lousy products, manufacturers will make higher quality products.

I'm sorry, but I think you're dreaming. realistically your idea would never happen. the good thing is when there is a recall it doesn't usually cost the consumer anything
