Contrary to your belief, A-Rod actually is a .313 career postseason hitter. It's what your eyes see is what leads to the preposterous comments. People expect so much from A-Rod that it is almost "expected" when he hits a game winning homerun. Therefore when he strikes out, he is boo-ed heavily. A-Rod does get paid a lot but other guys like Giambi get paid 18 million. A-Rod makes 25 million, so shouldn't Giambi get SOME boos when he strikes out? No one more boo-ed than A-Rod. People complain how he's having a bad year this year, but the man has 68 RBIs at the half way point of the season. If he continues this the rest of the season, he'll have 136 runs batted in. Last year when he won his MVP award, he knocked in 130 runs. I always thought 136 RBIs equal a great year. It's just sad-- the guy who makes 25 million is boo-ed heavily when there are other guys, even on other teams that make slightly less but they get no grief. And even if he gets paid the most, he earns all his cash. A-Rod plays great defense, is one of the league leaders always in runs scored, despite batting in the middle of the order, and is savvy in the clubhouse. Pujols is great but he plays 1st base, an easy position. A-Rod plays a difficult position. Ortiz is great but he doesn't play any position. A-Rod can't do what Ortiz does-- load up on the weight and start hitting bombs. A-Rod has to worry about his defense at 3rd, if he muscles up too much he won't be able to play defense. Like A-Rod said "A person who wins the lottery is a public hero, and someone who works hard all his life and earns a big contract is the public villain." As for is he worth 25 million-- ask George Steinbrenner's accountant if he's worth 25 million. The year after A-Rod joined the Yankees, the Yankees attendence jumped 4 million, breaking the all time record for ticket sales in one season. They have already broke THAT record this year, in just half a season. Before A-Rod the Yankees were topping out at 3.6 million to 3.8 million a season. A-Rod has pulled his weight in revenue, and then some. And then theres all those Rodriguez shirts..

You know I am not a Yankee fan at all, but when I'm forced to watch a game with my hubby, and I hear all the fans boo A-Rod I get a bit sad for him.Yes he makes alot of damn money to be a good player, but hes having an off last couple months, fans just need to back off.You will never hear Fenway fans boo Big Poppi if its been 2 months since hes had a home run.You even hear at the Twins stadium for Joe Mauer, its crazy, if you are a loyal fan, you will stick by your team and its players, even when they are in a slump.YankeeFan is soo on it its not even funny.Leave A-Rod alone, he will play good again once all the assholes shut the hell up.

Okay... finally I get to speak my mind about this subject... first of all: YES... I hope he will... he deserve it big time!! Second: if the Yankees get rid of him after the season... it will be a huge mistake, you can't fault someone for having ONE bad year. Third: I'm getting sick of some Yankee Fans booing him... GET OFF HIS BACK... tell you what... you make that much money, you go out there EVERY DAY and try and do what he does UNDER ALL THAT PRESSURE playing in New York ( I only say New York because some Yankee Fans aspect too much, I'm not one of them ) and try and do it... I BET YOU CAN'T!!

I've been a A-Rod Fan even before he came to New York, I followed him with Seattle and Texas... plus, I've been an A-Rod supporter with him in New York... Please all Yankee Fans that are booing him... STOP!! It's not like he's not trying... it's looks to me like he's busting his butt off... and trying to do too much to make some of you happy... for the last time it's CALL A SLUMP, every player has them... GET OFF A-ROD's BACK!!

LET'S GO A-ROD... I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!! STOP LISTENING TO ALL THE BOOS, THEY ARE NOT YOUR REAL FANS ANYWAY!!!!!

I would just like to add something... thank you redsoxfan... at least a red sox fan sees the light!!

If they can get some semblance of consistently good pitching, they might be able to make a run of it this year. Especially if Matsui and Sheffield are both healthy in September. I'm not sure Ponson is the answer, though. His outing last night was fair at best.

I hope that he will, because he deserves it.

He is an amazing ball-player, but I think he's put too much pressure on himself - and to be fair, the NYC media doesn't necessarily help matters - to be EVERYMAN, if that makes sense.

To the person who claims to be a friend of A-Rod, please let him know that he does have another supporter out there in Yankees Universe.

Don't know what Mr. info is on but A-Fraud had 3 errors Monday night alone.I don't expect him to hit homeruns every night but I do expect him to hit a ball once in awhile. That streak he had going was disgusting.I quit paying attention at 9/46!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sucks I don't care who you are!
He chokes in Pinstripes and doesn't belong here.
Yankees will be in it this year but I hope he is gone by then.He doesn't deserve it.It will only be because he is riding the other's shirttails.
GO YANKEES!!!!!!!
