ok heres what i did- switch to american spirits first of all. im sure they wouldnt market it as the way to quit, but it helps. trust me. ever seen that movie the insider? well thats all true- just like truth commercials- they put urea, amonia- its all the same. they put it in to make your lungs more porous, thus they accept more nicotine, thus they want more nicotine- see? so switch to american spirits. they are only tobacco. smoke those for a few weeks till youve gotten over the other kinds first., then quit cold turkey. and once youve quit, ive fouind that talking alot of smack about how you had no problem quitting always makes it more difficult to cheat. and talk alot of smack to people who do smoke still, be real bitchy about the smell and how gross it is. it helps.

Quit a Lot... quit everyday - and when you fail, don't worry - just quit again. If you don't smoke for one full day it's a lot better than if you did. So you have to experiment with quitting and don't be down on yourself when you fail. One idea is to get some chewing tobacco - Beachnut. That's mild tobacco leaves, and you could chew that like gum when you can't take it anymore. The big trick with quitting cigarettes is to quit the whole business of buying a new pack - lighting up - putting them out. The less of this you do the better. And a little chew of tobacco once in a while is probably about 1/100th as deadly as the cigs - they truly are incredibly poisonous. Later I doubt you'd have much trouble stopping the chewing tobacco. I've also heard there's drug that really help people - not quite sure what they do - but a visit to the doctor would tell you. I've heard this will help LIFETIME smokers to quit right away!! Amazing. There's those patches which give you nicotine, but a package of chewing tobacco would be a lot cheaper. The trick is somehow get OUTSIDE the whole addictive process of buying and lighting cigarettes. One Big help is that cigarettes are so expensive now you just about have to get a loan to buy a pack - that probably makes people cut down a lot. When I was in college, cigs were 35 cents a pack - in the machine! I don't think they even have machines anymore.

That's one of the toughest rows to hoe ever.
My only advice is this, don't stop trying.
Try everything!
The patch, classes, substitution therapy, cold turkey, whatever!
The cold truth is, you developed the nicotine habit over a period of time and it's going to take a period of time to develop the no-nicotine habit. Just quit for a day. Then if you make it one day try for two, and so on and so on. Just remember, no matter what, don't stop trying. Good Luck my friend! I wish you the best!

don't know if its the best idea but it definitely 10000% works. they do this to people with alcohol problems, they tie them to a chair and dump alcohol up their nose and mouth for 24 hours untill they get real sick of it even at the thought of drinking. you dont have to tie ur self to a chair but u can start by smokine 80 packs a day and increase to 150 then 200 untill u dont want any any more good luck

Go to your MD and tell him u want to quit and that you want Wellbutrin. It is the same as the other stuff you take to quit smoking, but a lot cheaper. That is what my Doctor gave me and i had no withdraw syptoms and I have not smoked for 6 yrs. and before Wellbutrin i tried everything and failed.

buy a pack. smoke one then throw the rest in the garbage. when you have the urge to smoke again, dig through your garbage to retrieve the pack you threw away. it will be covered in all sorts of filth and slime. smoke one and throw the pack away again. when another urge comes along, do the same thing. if you do it enough times, you will realize how pathetic you are and you will be utterly disgusted with yourself, hopefully enough to put you off smoking forever.

good luck.

and God bless.
