Well, answers are going to be all over the place. What Kind of bike, what kind of coverage, age, driving record and where do they live? I'll tell you right now if your thinking of buying any kind of super sport bike, ninja, Honda CBR, suzuki gsx etc, get ready for sticker shock. Very High risk, and if you are young, forget it. I've quoted 20 yr olds who buy bikes like this as high as 11,000 for a year- seriously! In fact, many bike makers now offer credit cards so they can sell you the bike with no lien, thus enabling you to carry liability only, and making it affordable- but do you really want no coverage for that 10,000 dollar bike you just bought? what if it's stolen, what if you crash it? On the other hand, I've seen policy for as little as 125 for the year- liability only on a standard bike- think honda rebel.

I'm 24 riding a Kawasaki KLR650 near Chicago. I carry liability insurance only and it costs just under $200 per year from Progressive. I'm sure turning 25 should drop that even lower. My driving record is pretty clean.
