I like my naked version Suzuki Bandit 1200. It can hang in there with most sport bikes in the twisties, tour comfortably with some soft luggage, tank bag, and a small removable screen, and with 110HP and 70+ ft/lbs of torque accellerate pretty good.(high 10's-low 11's). Rational ergonomics, with standard handlebars and rear set pegs, comfortable seat. Older bullet proof GSXR oil/air cooled engine, means parts availablity, easy to work on, simple to maintain. No shims under valves, no computer, no anti-freeze, and no bodywork to remove to get at things.
To me it looks like a motorcycle, engine right there, between 2 tires. The faired version gets some wind protection at the cost of a few pounds, and a bit softer suspension if you wanted more of a sport tourer.
( think that other guy up there that had bad luck with his, forgot to mention he probably turned the petcock to prime overnight, otherwise the fuel doesn't flow without the engine running, on the regular position)

Assuming you are talking about modern motocycles, actually street bikes, there are many good marquees, (brands). However after having rode, owned, sold, and in general lived and breathed motorcycles on a lare scale since 1967, hands down, bike for bike, all maintenance items being done as required, Honda is still the best. Best quality, lowest warranty occurances in the industry, largest world wide volume, parts availability, excetera.
This does'nt mean there are not some great H.D.s, Yammys, Bemers, Kawis, and Suzys,and Ducks, . But you will look far and wide to find one that will that will roll three hundred thousand miles plus without other than the low ,required, service intervals than a made in America, (God Bless John Wayne) , Honda Gold Wing, or the old 750 Four that started the new era of multis in 1969.Or the old trail 90s. On and on. Most modern big displacement air or water cooled bikes should give you 80-100 thousand miles. The difference is how much maintenance is required and how much it cost. By the way there are no Made in America only bikes, or cars or trucks any more. Go to your H.D. store and look at the Japanese, German, and by golly Made in China Parts and Genuine Accessories there. Just buy what you like, enjoy it and for crying out loud, ride the darn thing. I get tired of the New Bikers trying to tell me how wonderful and bad theire 60 h.p. Fat Boys are when the have only ridden them 300 miles since they bought it in 03. They are all good, ride em, enjoy em, and do not by them for the resale because it is not there any more. Do you understand about supply and demand? This means your grand pa paid $499 for a Honda Trail 90 in 1972, changed the oil and put a six volt battery in it right before he sold it for $2000 last week. Not your neighbor who paid $21000 for a new 03 Fat Boy, dumped $15000 more into it to help it run, chrome it out, and make it His, like everyone else did and dumped it for $15,999 or best offer. (With 300 miles on it.) Or the Yamaha Star rider who does the same darn thing to his Road Star, just to be different than the H.D. guy who grew up on Hondas. It's all interelated, and it is all about the freedom of being in the wind. These new riders should learn that before they are compelled to put down some one or something else when they do not usually know what they are talking about. By the way, the Custom built Chopper clones are the worst of the lot for dependability, maintenance, and usually has a 60% drop in value within 24 months. Cool though, if you can work on them, and only go in straight lines.

My brother and I bought 2 new bikes for a summer vacation. His 1200 Bandit leaked gas and ruined the motor before it got 2000 miles. We asked Suzuki to replace the motor so we could go on vacation. They said it’s to expensive and would cost $3000. After 4 months and the vacation gone they got the motor rebuilt at a their cost of $3700. The dealer wanted to replace the motor but Suzuki squashed that. The gas stained cases and burnt exhaust pipes were not replaced. The bike got nicked and scratched all over from being apart for so long. The rep rode it and looked at it, then said it’ good as new. It ran like crap and looked worse. We called Japan for nothing, and even wrote the US CEO all for nothing. We spent $15,000 for the bikes to get Fd. We spent our vacation hassling with Suzuki, and not one person there gave a F! Beware Suzuki’s warranty is not worth the paper it’s printed on! Buy one of their lemons are get Fd like we did!

For what? Riding, racing, looking at? There's no way to answer this without knowing the purpose.
But what the hell, I put in my vote for the 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa. Most beautiful sport bike ever made (in the copper/silver color scheme). And it wasn't neutered - both sacs are full of life!

if you talking about a moter bike i would get a custom made one, but if u talking about kid bike, i think out of all ive riden i like the mongoose bikes

there is not one. they are to many catagory specific bike. best touring, best performance, best cornering, best comfort, best offroad, best motocrosser, best dual purpose, etc.
